(More customer reviews)These bars are not delicious, but don't taste bad at all. They are however very chewy and you'll need to have a drink while eating them as recommended by the label. I wish they were a little cheaper though. So they lose a star based on price since it comes out to $2 a bar even when buying in bulk. But at over 30 grams of protein per bar, its still worth it. I've tried the roasted peanut flavor the other day and think that once tastes a little bit better.

Luna Protein Bars 12 ea Review

(More customer reviews)For fun, I went to the nutrition store tonight and bought about 2 dozen different protein/nutritio bars. My daughter and I decided we would do a taste test of each one so that we could buy the ones we liked in bulk off Amazon. It was a rather expensive endeavour, especially since we threw out over half of them after the first bite.
Well, as you might imagine, there were quite a few BLECH! bars - virtually inedible. There were maybe a handful of bars that we deemed 'edible if really hungry and there were no other healthy options', and then there were about 3 that were really really tasty.
The Luna Protein bar was in the 'edible' category. I like that they use good healthy ingredients, the bar is not high in calories and you get a solid 12g of protein and 3g of fiber. The downside is that it doesn't taste that great, so I would only be inclined to eat this bar if I had no other healthy options available to me. It might be something I'd keep in my car/desk/backpack as an emergency meal, but I would not savor it.
I would like to mention though, that I am a huge fan of the other 'regular' Luna bars, and although the protein count is lower on those, they are delicious, and with a glass of nonfat milk you'd get about 18g of protein for about 270 calories.

Luna Protein Chocolate Cherry Almond, 12-count Box Review

(More customer reviews)I was looking to add protein to my breakfast and/or mid-morning snack, but many of the available protein bars are far too high in carbs for what I had in mind. Other bars also tend to have corn syrup and other additives I didn't want. The list of ingredients in these bars is pretty simple, nothing nasty, and they're high in calcium too! Of course, none of this would matter if they didn't taste good, but almost to my surprise they do. I really would like to order them here, but the price is not competitive with what I found elsewhere.

Luna Protein Cookie Dough, 12-count Box Review

(More customer reviews)This protein bar is small and only 180 calories. It's a soft cookie dough covered with a chocolate coating. Inside it has little chocolate chips throughout. It also has a salty bite to it, which was surprising. I thought it would be strictly sweet and the salt was a nice change. It still has that protein bar taste, but overall I think it tastes better than most protein bars. I didn't find it to be filling, but it makes a nice snack. I also like that it has more natural ingredients and no corn syrup.

Balance Bar Nutrition Energy Bar, 1.76-Ounce Bars (Pack of 15) Review

(More customer reviews)I've reviewed a lot of these products, and most have some common flaws: Bad, "unnatural," or chemical-like taste (especially in the metallic after-taste), woefully stale, cardboard-like texture, high fat content, and relatively high price.
Given all the chemicals listed below, it came as a great surprise that this is a DELICIOUS snack, certainly one of the best of the many I've tried. No strange aftertaste, and real hints of honey (the peanut is a little harder to discern). The texture is soft but with some heft, and, on entry one senses honey, sugar, a hint of peanut and oil, and a vague spicy background. IT's excellent, and not as sweet as the similar but too-sugary (for my taste) yoghurt honey peanut flavor.
My only complaints (and this comes from the head, not the taste, Bud) are the plethora of vitamin and mineral additives (just a personal preference there), and the 3.5 grams of saturated fat, and 17 grams of sugar. However, this is within the range, I believe, of most of these products.
On the positive side, you get 14 grams of sugar, and high percentage of the recommended daily values of a range of vitamins and minerals. Have one of these with a 2-3 lasses of water and you will feel full. Also great as a post work-out pick-me-up. Of course, please consult your health care provider for specific recommendations for your personal use.
I'm not sure how they did it, but Balance has set a new bar (pun intended) for taste!

(More customer reviews)First of all, since this is the review of the product, let me say that it is a really great tasting energy bar. It kinda tastes like Snickers, except not as sweet.
Now the reasons you may not want to order here: Earlier reviews that I cannot locate anymore mentioned getting bars that were past the expiration date. I've been ordering them from Amazon for a year now and never had this problem.
Another problem is that Amazon does not protect the shipments from the weather in any way. If you order your bars when it's hot outside they will melt on the way and arrive looking shapeless and unappetizing. So, do not order them from Amazon in the summer.

Super C- Slender - Vitamin & Mineral Drink Mix Lemon Citrus: 7 Count box (Pack of 4) Review

(More customer reviews)I use all the products in the Super-C series and so I will give a review of them all.
Of all the variants, the best tasting are Bone & Joint, Immunize and Energy. Slender taste okay and Sleep is not that great.
BUT
They all appear to have the effect they promise - which is far more than one can say about many of the "functional beverages" one can purchase.
Although not that great in taste (in my subjective opinion), SLEEP has a really good effect and I could feel that it made me more able to fall asleep. That is quite significant as I suffer from insomnia very often.
BONE&JOINT - which tastes GREAT - actually made my otherwise protesting knees feel good again if I drank the mix about 8-10 hours before heading for the gym.
ENERGY too is effective, although the effect is just as subtle and unobtrusive as it promises. This is good unless you want a "burn hot but burn fast" effect which tend to result in a drastic drop in energy one's you settle down again.
As for IMMUNIZE and SLENDER there effects are supposed to occur much more "in the background" - supporting processes in the body without changing them in any way that causes a direct, tangible and short-term effect one can feel. But looking at the ingredients it would seem that they do what they are supposed to.
A note should be added to those watching calories, as it is easy to miss the fact that SLENDER actually do contain calories while the others do not (per serving, that is).
Also, and this is not so much critique (perhaps constructive) as suggestion to the producer, it would be good if the nutritional information listed the quantities of the vitamins, minerals and other effective ingredients instead of just the percentage of suggested daily value. It is difficult for people who for some reason try to calculate daily intake of such ingredients, when it does not say how much of them are in each serving.
But this is a great series of drink mixes. Mixes easily, does what it says, tastes great (except for one, in my opinion) and contains nothing one can feel guilty about
