Metamucil Fibersure Clear-Mixing Fiber Supplement Powder - 34 Dose Review

UPDATE: There has been some confusion when I refer to Metamucil versus Fibersure. Metamucil Fibersure is made with inulin, whereas original Metamucil is made with psyllium. When I refer to "Metamucil," I am referring to the original product made with psyllium.

I got Fibersure because I wanted to add fiber to the family's diet. I started mixing it in everthing I made that was wet. No one could tell it was there.
It's not gritty like Metamucil MultiHealth Fiber Original Coarse Psylium Fiber Powder, 114-Dose Bottle and doesn't stick to the glass like Metamucil. It's also flavorless, unlike Metamucil.
The bottle says not to mix it with fizzy things like soda. I'm guessing it flattens it out, but i haven't tried it. I did try it with a dressing made with mayonaise and the mayo seemed to get more runny so it did not come out quite as good.
I usually have it in my Crystal Light. It's pretty good that way, mostly because I can't tell it's there.
I don't really want it in water, though I've done that. It might be psychological, but I don't like the thought of having this tasteless stuff in water, so I down it quickly. Honestly, I don't taste it, but I don't want anything in my water unless it flavors it, like Metamucil does.
One thing I'd like them to improve is the design of the opening of the container. It would be nice if I could fit a spoon in it to scoop out the fiber, rather than having to pour it out.

UniFiber All Natural Fiber Supplement, 60 servings, Net Wt. 8.4 oz. Bottle Review

UniFiber All Natural Fiber Supplement, 60 servings, Net Wt. 8.4 oz. Bottle

Unifiber advertises itself as 'tasteless' which is a bit of a misnomer, it has a faint taste of rubber. It's best if mixed into a flavorful soup or stew, in which case it's not so noticeable.
However, regardless of the texture (not quite grit free), it does get the job done. I'm unable to consume oat fiber and, due to some health issues, can't get enough to insoluble fiber through my diet. For people like me it's good to have this option, even if it is a bit utilitarian. If this product doesn't work out for you, you can also try stabilized rice bran, although it has a bit of an odd flavor as well, is another gluten-free source of insoluble fiber.

Benefiber Review

Benefiber

There are several ways to get enough fiber in your diet. The best, of course, is through your diet. This means more fruits and vegetables, and fewer fast foods and snack foods. The second is by using the 'bulking' fiber supplements that use the old standby, psyllium fiber. Psyllium fiber products such as Metamucil are effective, but many people don't like the gritty texture. After all, these products are ground-up seeds with the tiny seeds attached. The third way is to use a product such as Benefiber, which has a nice texture and dissolves almost completely in water or fruit juice, and is much easier to take/swallow.
I'd suggest starting out slowly, adding a bit of Benefiber to your morning orange juice. Add a bit more every day or every other day, so you body can adjust to the increased bulk in your digestive tract.
Our bodies were made to operate on a high-fiber diet. Native plants did not come as fruit leather or in popsicles. They came as whole fruits, fiber, vitamins and minerals and all of the other healthful products of raw fruits and vegetables.
I do eat a healthy diet, but I still use added fiber. Why? The bulking makes me more regular, healthy, and I feel better. I believe it helps regulate fat and cholesterol in my body as well. It helps mimic the diets we humans evolved with on our planet.
Recommended. I use this product all of the time. I still occasionally use the psyllium fiber products as well, just not as often since I've discovered Benefiber.
