(More customer reviews)I travel almost all of the time, in situations in which I can't do cooking, and there is no refrigeration available for 24 hours at a time. High carb, high sugar foods are always available and easy to carry, but high protein resources are not... unless you use high protein bars.
The chocolate flavored Twisted bars by Premier, which contain 15 grams of protein, are a wonderful addition to my usual high protein bars (Premier Protein bars with 30 grams of protein, which is the highest in protein that I can find).
Twisted contains real pretzels, which retain their crunch, surrounded by layers of chocolate and carmel. Twisted contains no sugar alcohols (low-carb sweeteners) like Maltitrol, which cause some of us to have intestinal "disruptions." (I will not go into details). Maltitrol also spikes insulin levels and increases sugar cravings, so the Twisted bars do NOT cause you to crave more and more and more! Warning: The chocolate in Twisted is sweet enough that you'll feel guilt (it's called FALSE guilt - see a shrink!).
I also have to watch calories, so I'll cut one of these in half (110 calories) and use it during a mid-morning coffee break. I have not tried the other Twisted flavors but will do so ASAP.
