Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)Ajinomoto is a long-established Japanese company that pretty much owns the world monopoly on monosodium glumate. That may not be much of a recommendation.
However:
Ajinomoto's main business is amino acids. A few years back they came up with this product called Amino Vital, a compound of long-branched amino acids that were supposed to be helpful athletically, both pre-workout and recovery.
Amino Vital was manufactured in various pills, powders, bottled drinks and "Quick Charge" packets of powder you dissolved on your tongue and gulped down with water. Amino Vital sponsored 10Ks and marathons. They gave out t-shirts and spike bags. A lot of distance runners swore by Amino Vital, claiming it really increased their concentration during a race and aided their recovery afterwards. My own anecdotal experience with myself and friends says that it relieves muscle pain after exercise, and does it very swiftly.
Rumor is the company never made any money on the product, and is now withdrawing it from the market. The main East Coast outlet, The Vitamin Shoppe, no longer carries it.
If you like it, stock up while you still can!
