I bought this so I could make the Healthy Powder in Pitcairn's book for my dogs. First, the bones used in this product are from US cattle, and the book mentions that there are high levels of lead and other metals in the bones of cattle raised in the US due to fertilizers and other things.
The amount of calcium in it doesn't seem to agree to Pitcairn's book, so I put in extra bone meal in my Healthy Powder supplement.
After switching to a homemade diet and the powder supplement, I must have put too much bone meal in it since their stool was whiteish looking. Also, my bigger dog (GSD) began having blood in the urine, which did not resolve itself in over two months. I took her to the vet, and after taking antibiotics and eating Hill's SD canned vet diet for a whole month, it went cleared up. My vet said it was probably due to a dietary imbalance and probably because her diet was not acidic enough.
Now I am skeptical about using the Healthy Powder. My dogs now eat Royal Canin German Shepherd formula and love it. The ordeal of the vet diet and antibiotics was very costly. If you want to get this for your dog, then please be careful and follow the instructions exactly.
