I really wanted to like this, because of the reviews, and because their website makes it sound like the best choice in rice proteins, but I just couldn't take that stevia taste. I normally have a hard time drinking anything with artificial sweetener, but I was hoping it wouldn't be so strong. Unfortunately it's hard to miss, and mixing it with anything that adds natural sugar only makes it worse, so the only way I could even chug it while holding my nose was with water. I guess if you're used to drinking diet sodas and such, it may not bother you so much.
Now, while the vanilla and chocolate both have stevia, the "natural" flavor does not. I would have liked to have tried it, but honestly I picked up some "Nutribiotic" brand vanilla rice protein for less than half the price that I think tastes pretty good, and has about the same amount of protein and amino acid profile, with less calories. The only factor that I would say the Sun Warrior brand beats Nutribiotic at is that it is less gritty/chalky, so it mixes better. So, if I was willing to spend the money again, I would feel confident that the natural flavor would be top notch.
I don't understand why companies use sweeteners like stevia. If I wanted to add a little sweetness to my smoothie, I could just add a little honey or agave nectar, or sugar. A half a teaspoon of sugar is only 7 calories, and sweetens plenty.
