(More customer reviews)Titanium Dioxide is a very common food additive which is used as a white pigment. It's naturally occurring and about 4 million tons are consumed per year worldwide. The only research on it as a possible carcinogen deal with it being INHALED (breathed in), not ingested (swallowed) in plants which manufacture it, where workers are exposed to hundreds of thousands of times more material than what exists in food. I guess someone was too busy oiling their skin up to visit Wikipedia. :)
As far as the pill itself, cut one open and you'll find exactly what you paid for - a little coconut meat and a lot of oil. I'm not real crazy about coconut, so being able to swallow a softgel pill is a lot easier for me.
I've been using this product for years, and I highly recommend it!

(More customer reviews)I know that it is ill advised to recommend any supplement or vitamin for any particular ailment but having been a user of this cherry extract for several months I can truly say it has, without a doubt, had a definite effect on lessening the aches and pains in the joints. Getting a little older and began noticing more joint pain and stiffness upon arising in the morning or even after prolonged periods of sitting. This supplement has helped a great deal and the pain and stiffness are all but gone. I will continue to use and recommend this product.

I do not have increased energy or a curbed appetite & no weight loss (maybe too soon for that). I have even changed my diet & started exercising again but still...nothing. The only thing I have noticed is that it makes my mouth dry after a while & that I fall asleep faster. Can't say if it would make me sleep better b/c I have a newborn so I'm up all the time. Hopefully with more time I'll see more benefits...

Additionally, you need to take 3.4 grams of CLA to have a theraputic effect. You'll have to take 4 capsules a day, so this bottle of 90 will last you less than a month.

But I do not like the tablets. You have to take several of them to make up for what you would get in a gel cap. So if you prefer to take several pills or split your pills throughout the day this is the product for you. If not, stick with the gel caps. They seem to be more effective for my use.

Anecdotally, I *did* drop my total cholesterol levels from 246 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dl) to 183 mg/dl. That's 63 points. I take 2 of the "extract 500" artichoke tablets twice a day with food (for a total of 4 daily tablets), plus I also take 1-10 milligram tablet of policosanol at the same time I take the artichoke herb (a total of 2-10 mg policosanol tablets per day). My LDL (low density cholesterol is the "bad" cholesterol) went from 144 to 99 mg/dl. My HDL (the "good" high density cholesterol) went from 81 to 66 mg/dl.
I stopped my regimen for about 4 months and my total cholesterol levels went back up, so I'm back "with the program." I do feel better. I haven't noticed any side effects, but as with any herbal product, everyone's body is different, and may react differently, so please be aware of those issues.
Results may vary. One of my friends tried the artichoke tablets, and his total cholesterol dropped 20 points, but I don't know what dosage he took. He said he is pleased with the turn-around.
One advantage, as the previous reviewer has pointed out, is that I've noticed a decrease in my tendency to constipation.

I have used another brand and since there is not argument that Source Naturals is a good brand I wanted to state my opinion about this product. There are studies regarding DHEA both good and bad. The reason I like this product is that it states it cannot be metabolized into active estrogenic or androgenic sex hormones. When regular DHEA supplement has caused higher than normal levels of androgens and estrogens it theoretically may increase the risk of prostate, breast, ovarian and other hormone sensitive cancers. If somehow this adverse effect has been removed in the 7-Keto DHEA without harming the integrity of the product I am happy to try. DHEA is known to downregulate IL-6 which is a stress marker in the blood. That is not to say it reduces stress but might reduce the harmful effects of stress or chronic inflammation. For myself, I am sleeping better and don't have a lab in my house to study why that might be, but I think the DHEA 7 Keto might be helping.

(More customer reviews)I've been taking tonalin CLA since March and I have lost 10 lbs. Seriously. I went from 179 to 169, so far. I take this along with chromium and green tea extract twice a day. I haven't changed my exercise routine, though I do exercise almost every day. I also watch my calorie intake, but I was doing that beforehand also. I would think that this would work best for someone without a lot of muscle mass and who is obese/overweight but is exercising with a routine that includes muscle toning, not just aerobics. I do believe that CLA helped break me out of my weight plateau and I will keep using it.
