(More customer reviews)Glutamine is an amino acid that you have naturally in your body (actually the most abundant one). It prevents muscle breakdown. Supplementing your body's natural supply will prevent your muscles from getting sore after work outs.
When I started P90 I picked up a bottle of micronized l-glutamine capsules to ease the pain as I got my neglected body into shape. They helped some, but you have to remember to take them throughout the day for them to be most effective, and you have to do it in between meals which makes it doubly annoying and hard to remember (especially when you're supposed to eat 5-6 small meals a day).
When that first bottle of glutamine capsules ran low I got this sustained release scoopable. It makes a *tremendous* difference in avoiding delayed onset muscle soreness, much better than the capsules. It is especially nice to be able to have another scoop before bed and have it work all night so I don't wake up sore. It has allowed me to push harder as I train, get into shape faster, and feel better doing it. The fact that I don't have to remember capsules is a bonus but it is so much more effective I would continue using this over the capsules even if the capsules were more convenient instead of less.
Two last notes:
-You don't have to be a body-builder to benefit from this. If you want to get into better shape and work out (or you just have to work more than you're used to!) and don't want to have sore muscles then this will help you. And much better than covering up pain you are providing for your body to be stronger and not have the micro tears that cause the pain so you will be better prepared for what life throws at you next.
-The best way to take this without tasting it is in a shake of other stuff. Maybe you do protein shakes, maybe you like fruit smoothies, or heck you could be a fan of chocolate milk so that's what in the house. It doesn't matter. The claim of "flavorless" is an overstatement. It's unflavored, and it doesn't have a real strong flavor, but if you don't like what flavor is there then put this in a shake or drink that has plenty of other flavor, and thicker is probably better too.
