MILA BY LIFEMAX - THE MIRACLE SEED - 16 0Z OMEGA 3 - THE ANCIENT SUPERFOOD OF THE AZTECS REDISCOVERED Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)About a month ago Shirley Tomlin contacted me, asking if I'd try Mila and offer my honest review of it. I'm always eager to try new things, especially if they're related to health, so I sent her my address and in about a week I received a one pound back of Mila - The Miracle Seed.
The information on Shirley's website reads:
The Miracle Seed is gluten-free, trans-fat free, sugar-free, high in fiber and protein, has no taste or smell and can be deliciously combined with many foods! Its supreme biological properties are not diminished by heat in the baking process, therefore making it easy to incorporate into your favorite recipes.
Mila(tm) is a mixture of Salvia hispanica L. seed which has been carefully selected to maximize its nutritional value. The mixture is mechanically processed using a proprietary system that optimizes the bioavailability and increases its nutritional value. Nothing is added to the product - it is a pure form of Salvia hispanica L. and is simply the best available today.
So, what is this miracle seed? I read the package and saw that it's chia seeds. These tiny seeds are touted as having 8 times more Omega-3 than salmon, 6 times more calcium than milk, 3 times more iron than spinach, 2 times more potassium than bananas, 15 times more magnesium than broccoli, 2 times more fiber than bran flakes, 6 times more protein than kidney beans, more antioxidants than blueberries, 4 times more selenium than flax seeds and 9 times more phosphorous than whole milk.
Wow, that's a lot of nutrition packed into one serving of Mila! But...how did it taste? Lazy and frugal person that I am, I simply mixed one scoop of Mila in a glass of water and drank it down first thing in the morning. I found it to be very pleasant with almost no taste at all. If I could put a taste to it, I'd say it was just slightly nutty and grass-like. You have to drink it down quick because it gets thick and slimy very fast. I can imagine it would be a good thickener for smoothies and soups.
After taking this for a couple of days I started noticing some big changes in my digestions. Always being prone to heartburn, upset stomach, ulcers, constipation and a host of other digestive complaints, I can honestly say I've taken and done just about everything I could for my system. I've been on special diets (low carb seems to work best for me), and every natural and over-the-counter supplement you could think of. Each year I spend hundreds of dollars just trying to find something--anything!--that will take away the pain and discomfort.
When I first started taking Mila I did so only to write a review about whether or not it tasted decent and if it offered even the smallest health benefit. The first thing I noticed was that it didn't give me any gas at all. We all know what it's like taking fiber supplements like psyllium, bran, and even flax meal! I'm also happy to say that ALL of my digestive complaints have vanished! After just two weeks I felt confident enough to stow away every bottle of Maalox, Rolaids, Pepto Bismal, Alka Seltzer, and my vast assortment of herbal products.
Another benefit of this product I never expected? Weight loss. I usually wake up in the morning and grab a cup of coffee and something sweet to wake myself up and ease that gnawing pain in my gut. But after a glass of Mila and water, I feel satisfied for a few hours and can make better food choices since I don't have any wild cravings that need to be instantly satiated.
To be honest, I don't know if other chia seed products work just as well or are sub-par to Mila since I haven't tried anything else yet. What I do know is Mila offers more health benefits than what the package and their website states.
I'm very happy with this product and wouldn't hesitate to use it consistently. My stomach will thank me!
