I have currently lost 70 pounds over the past 14 months by a combination of weight lifting, running, walking, and restricting my calories. I try to mostly eat a high protein, low-to-moderate fat, restricted carbohydrate diet. I do eat carbs, even on restricted days, but then try to mostly get them earlier in the day and mostly from vegetables rather than grains or dairy. I allow myself the occasional whole wheat bread, brown rice, and yogurt. Several times a week I also cheat, having a bowl of reduced fat, no-sugar-added bordens chocolate ice cream, or eating a meal out at a restaurant.
When I eat out and opt for the unhealthy stuff, I started trying these, and they work great for me. Usually the extra carbs would have me gaining 3 to 5 pounds of fluid temporarily, and then losing the fluid over a few days time when I resumed my restricted carbohydrate days. With these, my weight doesn't go up at all after a large cheat meal, and in fact, I sometimes lose a little even after that occasional high carb, high fat meal.
Doesn't sound like a placebo effect, and seems to work as stated. I'll keep buying these.
