The Delicious Vanilla MyoFusion Protein from Gaspari Nutrition smells something like a soft-serve ice cream cone from Dairy Queen with a butterscotch-dipped shell. The flavor is remarkably better from any other vanilla protein I've purchased; most of which taste like a 25¢ imitation-vanilla candle.
However, this protein has never sat well on my stomach. I've experienced some bloating and minor stomach discomfort every time I've taken it. On occasion, I've felt bad enough (semi-nauseous) to pass on working out for the day.
Evidently, these side effects are fairly common to some users of whey protein powders. From my reading of internet boards, some folks suggest that whey concentrate has this effect on some (versus whey isolate which they say does not). Others put their finger on the artificial sweeteners (sucralose) used in protein powders. The difficulty with this is that all the protein powders I've used have been blends comprised of both whey concentrate and isolate. And they all use sucralose to reduce the calories per serving.
Ultimately, I've never had these negative experiences with other whey protein brands. While I can't identify the precise reason, I doubt I'll be purchasing MyoFusion again, despite the above-average flavor.
