I have taken this product as a young bodybuilder, a rock climber and as a more sedentary person trying to loose weight. I believe it does actually enhance the amount of growth hormone that you secrete IF you take it during times of the day when your natural growth hormone is already about to peak; upon awakening, prior to bed and after a workout... Empty stomach; during times of great stress and, well one needs to study up a bit on GH release to understand all that there is to know about this complex hormone. I got a mild effect at 1 packet a day so I tried 2-3 packets a day and really recorded improvements in body fat reduction, training performance etc. beyond what I could have achieved without using this supplement. It took about 2-3 weeks; the downside is that it got unreasonably expensive for the benefits I received. In the end I switched back to my reliable Creatine-Glutamine-Whey Protein Stack that has always saw me through the toughest of training days at the best cost to benefit ratio. The formula in Secretagogue One is nothing new, it's just amino acids & vitamins with an few extras. Arginine Hydrochloride and other fairly 'cheap' amino acids at that, however the delivery system is what makes this formula so expensive. I think the delivery system works as the literature states, I can't prove this in any way it's just something that I feel. Other beneficial ingredients are the GABA which aside from assisting with GH release may calm ones nerves. The Pyroglutamate may help with cognitive functioning and the broad bean may or may not contain L-Dopa which may or may not actually be a desirable thing. I didn't find it to be a bad thing but I would have preferred the Arginine in the formula to be the Pyroglutamate form and no Broad Bean. Lots of research went into this well thought out product and because it was one of the first of its kind it is one of the more affordable effervescent GH releasing amino acid delivery systems on the market. I should add that the real benefit is if you are in a demanding diet and are coming down from another weight loss supplement and are trying to retain the benefits, or are crashing from the effects of long term use of stimulants. Another scenario where this supplement shines is when someone is coming off a long term cycle of Pro or synthetic hormone supplements and desire to keep their strength-muscular gains then this might be a good time to consider a natural increase in your growth hormone levels as it will strengthen your immune system rebuild injured tendons as well as promote health.
